THE ORIGINS OF SAPIENT

I created Sapient from my desire to provide optimum nutrition within one bowl—that is, all nutrients in balanced ratios. And then combine that with maximum convenience, minimal waste and reasonable prices.

     And Radical Taste.

Let us know if we succeeded!

I was born and raised in small towns in the deep south to one of the only health food Mamas around. She fed us on the best version of southern cuisine: seafood, venison, whole grain corn bread, field peas, peanut butter, turnip greens, and cobblers made from blackberries and peaches. Fortunately, she was not too strict because we ate plenty of pizza and cheeseburgers, too.

By my late teens into my early thirties, I had lost my way with institutional and mainstream food even while pursuing several extreme sports and endeavors.  In my late twenties I started experiencing various physical and mental health issues—and sought ways to heal myself.

After exploring various modalities of healing, I focused on my roots: great food and nutrition—and went on to live an exciting and productive life.

Through the years, I trained myself as a “systems scientist” to understand diet and nutrition and many other parts of our lives to optimize our well-being.  I then wanted to share my wisdom with the world and launched multiple projects:

On the Origin of Being (Amazon best seller and book award winner):

And The First Supper: https://www.thefirstsupperbooks.com

I will soon release the book, Sapient, to accompany this project with the subtitle: “How to design the optimum diet for your lifestyle.”

During that time, I also managed to own and produce the Arise Music Festival while producing multiple other innovative events across the country.

About twenty years ago, I started slow cooking stews and other dishes in my Le Creuset pots—which then served as the inspiration for these stews.

I hope you appreciate the offering from me and our team.
